FOUNDER & CEO

Katherine Ruth Borja, CEO

Born and raised in Cebu, Philippines, Katherine Ruth Borja was exposed to business at a young age—learning not from textbooks, but from real-life experience alongside her mother, who built a livelihood through direct selling and small retail.
She earned her degree in Nursing from Cebu Doctors’ University, and later pursued a Diploma in Beauty Therapy in Melbourne, Australia, expanding her understanding of customer care, wellness, and service.

Working between Australia and the Philippines, Katherine developed a practical, systems-driven approach to business-combining hands-on experience in operations, sales, and accounting with a deep understanding of community-based entrepreneurship.

No matter where she worked or studied, one thing remained clear: many aspiring entrepreneurs-especially women-had the drive to start, but lacked access to the right system, support, and opportunities.

In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Katherine took over the business after her mother passed away-a woman entrepreneur who had built and sustained it for over 20 years.

From that moment, she transformed the business into what is now known as Kathy Borja Business Center (KBBC)-a structured platform designed to make business more accessible, scalable, and sustainable for everyday people.

Today, KBBC continues to grow as a woman-led enterprise, supporting a network of resellers and communities across Cebu-built on the belief that with the right system, anyone can turn small beginnings into real progress.

KBBC stands for a simple idea: business should be possible-for everyone.

OUR HISTORY

A Woman-Led Enterprise

Kathy Borja Business Center (KBBC) formally began in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the business was passed on after the founder's mother passed away in June 2020.

Originally established in 2000 as KKS General Merchandise, the business was built from the ground up by a woman entrepreneur who dedicated over 20 years to growing it-transforming small beginnings into a stable source of income and opportunity for many.

She was more than a business owner.
She was a woman who built something meaningful-something that created livelihoods, supported families, and empowered others to start their own journey.

From 2000 to 2020, her work laid the foundation of what KBBC is today. In 2020, the next chapter began.

The business was restructured, renamed, and reimagined as Kathy Borja Business Center (KBBC)-carrying forward her legacy while building a more structured, scalable system for growth.

Today, KBBC continues to evolve as a woman-led enterprise-built by a woman, for women.

It stands as a platform for livelihood, growth, and empowerment, supporting families and aspiring entrepreneurs across communities.
